The FixnZip® is a zipper slider replacement product. When a zipper fails, it is most likely due to wear within the zipper slider itself rendering it unable to properly mesh the teeth or coils properly for a secure closure. The teeth or coils are generally in good condition; however, the usual repair solution is the removal and replacement of the entire zipper. This is generally done by a tailor and can be quite costly. In addition, the results are often less than satisfactory due to stitching variances from the original or color matching. In the case of specialty or vintage items, i.e. a WWII bomber jacket, a tailor may not want to accept the repair. The FixnZip® is a zipper slider replacement that repairs zippers without the need for tools or sewing. It has a patented spring plate design consisting of two slider plates, a thumbscrew and spring. The slider parts are made of zinc die cast and the spring and thumbscrew of stainless steel. Prior to assembly, the sliders are plated with a bright or black nickel finish. This plating, in combination with the stainless steel parts, give the slider a noncorrosive surface for endurance of environmental conditions and water. The FixnZip® comes in three sizes: small, medium and large. Its design enables each to fit a range of sizes as well as universally apply to teeth or coil zippers, metal or plastic. Taking just minutes, it is easy to install fixing zippers on clothing, bags, backpacks, sleeping bags, tents, car and boat covers, jeep windows, wetsuits, to name but a few. It can be used on open ended (such as a jacket) or closed ended zippers and can be started anywhere on the zipper. In the case of a zipper that may be missing some teeth, the FixnZip® glides over these and realigns the remaining teeth thus restoring the functionality of the zipper. The beauty of the FixnZip®, besides its utility and ease of use, is that it promotes reuse of items that might otherwise be discarded in a closet or end up in a landfill. In addition, the FixnZip® itself is re-usable in that it can be taken off one item and applied to another further promoting sustainability. It is easy to use in the field and should be something that households have on hand, or in their repair kits, much the same as spare batteries.Product SummaryZipper repair without tools or sewing Attractive nickel finishes Easy to apply Noncorrosive surface Repairs tooth and coil, metal and plastic zippers Durable and reusable Each fits a range of sizes Promotes recycling and sustainability Can be started anywhere on the zipper Full website and online instructional support
